Back again!

Hello all!

As I sit here sipping some delicious San Pellegrino and typing this it comes to me that I have not written on here since at least April.  I apologize for the gap! I promise it will get better, I know but I always say that, this time I pinky promise it will. I would like to get some feedback from y'all on what you might like to see me blog about.  I have plenty of ideas but it would be nice to hear from you too.

School is back in full swing for the Fall semester.  I look forward to all the exciting things fall brings!  A summer recap post will hopefully be up by next week highlighting some of the great stuff I did this summer other then work that is.

Thats all for now, I'll talk to you soon!

A quick catch-up...Finally!

Well hello there!

Whats that you have a snotty comment about me not posting since September?  Good, glad we are comfortable with each other.  I am truly sorry about not posting in what seems like ages, but life happens.  It has been a truly exciting and busy couple months.  My my where to start...Lets pick up around thanksgiving area.

I believe it was around this time my dad has his 3rd or 4th ankle replacement(its hard to keep track sometimes).  Those of you who speak to me on a daily basis know he is doing good now although it was a long recovery with a couple complications but all is well now.  The next notable event was me finishing my first semester at Manchester Community college with a GPA of 3.6 so that was pretty cool.  Next came christmas which was great as usual, my sister and her family came this year.

This new semester in school has been busy to say the least.  There seems to be a never ending flow of homework.   While busy I am learning a lot everyday.  In my baking class we are doing french pastries, which are all to die for.  In my advanced food prep class we are doing dinner finally and that is fun but hectic all at the same time.

I applied for the Disney College Program, but I was sadly informed yesterday that they will not be choosing me for that opportunity at this time.  I hope this means that an even better door will open for me in the near future.  It was a huge disappointment not to get into that experience but there is always next time.  I am currently considering what my next move is after i finish classes this semester for the summer.  All I know is it is going to be one big ole adventure and I hope you are all down for the ride!

First Day In The Kitchen

Hello all!

I feel like it has been well almost a month since I chatted with you guys....woops..... Oh well moving on.   I am sure you all are wondering where on earth I have been the last month.  Well I have been in the world wind called college defiantly a huge learning curve getting into the swing of things, specially since I am a full time student and working part time.  Besides the first couple weeks of class there was nothing exciting going on.   Last week was the first time we went into the lab(kitchen).  We learned basic knife cuts and how to properly clean the kitchen and our equipment.  Everything was going fantastic except for the fact I passed out... in the kitchen..  Now before you get all freaked out I think you should know the precursors to this little exciting event.  It was one of the hottest days we have had in a while and the baking class in the kitchen next to ours was using our ovens which made the temp in the kitchen far over 80-85 degrees.  I also had not eaten well little to nothing and was not staying hydrated so it was pretty much my fault.  Plus the culinary outfits are starched and entirely to hot.  So this is what happened I informed the Chef that I felt like I was going to pass out and actually waited for him to say it was okay for me to go and sit down.  As I turned and started walking towards the door the room quickly started to turn black and then woosh everything was gone and I somehow made it to some kind of metal counter and was still pretty determined to make it to the door regardless.  Then the next thing I knew I was slouched in the Chefs arm with three or four of my class mates all standing around me asking if I was okay.  They gave me ginger ale with sugar in it and an apple with some ice water.  They had to call campus police because of the nature of the situation but they where all absolutely wonderful and nice. Will this happen again? I hope not! I am doing everything I can do to prevent this from happening.  That same day two of my other class mates managed to cut themselves with their knives.  Over all it was a very exciting first lab.   Well that is all for now.  I hope to put another post up next week...hopefully.

The Fancy Box

Hello all,

Today I would like to take the time to talk about Fancy.com and how I absolutely adore them and in specific their Fancy Boxes.  I got my second one of these little gems today.  Now I am sure you are asking "What on earth is a Fancy Box?!",  Well I will tell you.  It is basically a monthly subscription that costs $40 a month but you get $80 worth of product in the box.  Basically a mystery box for adults.

Now the feeling one gets when he sees one of these beauties on his door step is sheer excitement and it feels like christmas because he never knows what he may get.

This months box was green as you could see and last months was purple.  On Fancy.com you can select what categories you are interested and leave your T-shirt size and other helpful comments to help them figure out what to give you.  This month I got a pretty sweet shirt that says "Life is Faceless" by Butterfly Tee, a Man of the World Magazine, Sphere ice molds(super excited for those), a LAEX Card Holder that says "Be Foolish" on it, and a Jelly Fish phone tripod, mount, and sunshield.

Each box comes with these nifty cards which tell you all about the products you get just in case you cant understand life basically.

Well I really Hope you are super excited to go buy yourself a subscription to Fancy.com's Fancy Box.  It is well worth the money, trust me!

See you guys real soon!

Welcome!

Hello all!  I am ever so glad you chose to read my blog today.  Now I am sure you may have a few questions about it.  As far as content goes you can expect to see ANYTHING, but primarily it basically will be of my life as I embark into the thrilling world of culinary and try to stay classy on a daily basis (easier said then done).  I will try to impress and dazzle you with my skills and taste twice a week but by this statement I mean once a week every other week if y'all are lucky.  I am going to try to use a pen name of sorts which will be Cedric Sterling and this is only for the very good reason of why on earth not?  Well that is all for now everyone!

See you guys real soon!
